Warts, or Verrucae Pedis, are painful lesion that result from the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), often seen on the hands and feet. The virus is transmitted from person to person by commonly walking barefoot in public shared areas. Often a plantar wart can be confused with a corn, however a plantar wart will present differently to a corn and will require a completely different treatment.

Needling
This technique is conducted by the Podiatrist in the room, done under a local anaesthetic. We administer the anaesthetic near the ankle in order to achieve a full sensory block of your foot. Verruca needling is a procedure where the verruca/wart is punctured with a small needle to cause bleeding and stimulate the body's immune system to resolve the problem.
Curette
This technique is conducted by the Podiatrist in the room, done under a local anaesthetic. We administer the anaesthetic near the ankle in order to achieve a full sensory block of your foot. The verruca/wart is then cut out and surgically removed from your foot.
